Hi, I’m Louise broda.
I’m passionate about holding space and helping Women rediscover the wisdom of their bodies by blending science, intuition and movement. I specialise in trauma-informed healing with over 20 years working with the body, firstly as a Physiotherapist and now as a Somatic Coach.
My own journey has shown me that healing is not linear and that the mind & body are deeply connected. I have spent most of my life learning about the body and searching for ways to help various ongoing health issues such as fatigue, stomach issues and skin issues. I have always looked to treat the cause rather than just the symptom, as this approach makes so much more sense to me (although sometimes it feels easier to just treat a symptom with a ‘band-aid’ solution!). I have always been so fascinated by the body and used more alternative healing approaches in my own health, such as Kinesiology and Homeopathy. I recall friends, who were also Physios, questioning me as to how I could be a Physio and use these “alternative health approaches”. I brushed these comments off at the time but they led me to delve even deeper as to why they felt it was odd. It highlighted how I had been trained in a very Medical Model way as a Physio, which sees the mind and body as quite separate. To me this approach has always felt like it’s missing something. It wasn’t until I studied psychology more in-depth, as well as starting to delve into the nervous system, the pieces started to come together. Studying a trauma-informed approach to addressing chronic pain (SIRPA) about 12 years ago felt like I was finally able to understand how stress and stored emotions really impact the body. Studying the SAH (Somatic Activated Healing) method recently has reignited this passion and taken me even deeper into this realm, in a more exciting and fun way! It has finally joined the dots for my own healing and strengthened a passion for being part of the discussion about the need for a trauma informed medical system, which deeply recognises how connected the mind and body are.
My Approach
My approach is designed for high-achieving Women who feel stuck in their heads and disconnected from their bodies. Through trauma-sensitive Somatic practices, like movement and breath, I guide you to reconnect with yourself and experience true transformation. If you’re ready to break free from old patterns and reclaim your body’s natural wisdom, I’d love to chat!
Somatic Dance
We all have emotions stored in our body, from past events and traumas. Using a method called Somatic Activated Healing, we’re gently moving the emotions out of our body by dropping the stories & engaging with the emotions.
Somatic coaching
Somatic means ‘of’ or ‘relating to’ the body. In simple terms, we are coaching with the body’s own wisdom, rather than being stuck in our heads! Coaching sessions can be body based without movement/ dance or they can be combined with/ focus on using Somatic dance. Sessions can be tailored to you!
